Wedding Shower

There's nothing better than going to a friend or family member's wedding shower. There's so much excitement about the upcoming wedding and the journey together these two people are about to embark on. I remember this excitement from when Glen and I were married, almost 6 years ago (It seems like just yesterday!!)
The wedding shower I went to this weekend was no different. I was able to spend the better part of the day with my mother in law and unlike many daughter in laws, my relationship with my mother in law is great. Almost as good as the one I have with my own mom. Love those two wonderful women to pieces. I was also able to spend time with other members of my husband's family - his aunt and uncle, one of his cousins and of course my Summer Pen Pal and new Bingo buddy Claire. It was a lovely day!
In any case, I digress - here is the card I put together for Nicole. You may recognize the papers, they're the same papers from the wedding album I posted earlier last week. This bride to be was the recipient of the wedding album.
Papers: Heidi Grace Designs - Love Forever collection; white card stock
Miscellaneous: Martha Stewart punch, bling, stamped/embossed heart, button from my stash, computer generated sediments.
The Outside of the Card says "A Wedding Shower Wish" and the inside says, "Wishing You a lifetime filled with Happiness, Laughter, Memories and Most of all, Love
Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by today. I'm so appreciative of the wonderful folks that stop by and visit my blog each day. I'm so grateful for your kind comments! I've got a blog-aversary coming up the beginning of September, so stay turned for my thank you to all of you!
Well, I'm off to enjoy my day off. Hoping to have a few projects wrapped up today that I can share with you tomorrow - it's been a month of chipboard album requests like you wouldn't believe!

Happy Craftin' & Happy Monday!

A Dragon Size THANK YOU!

I've been attempting to get caught up with a few of the Scrap-cation challenges over at Scrap-Friendzy and I tell you - Amy and her girlz must have been reading my mind! I needed to make a quick little thank you card for a birthday gift I received and Wah-la, like magic they gave me the perfect challenge.
The challenge was "X 3" -
Create a card and repeat three elements.
This was a super fun challenge as I don't usually make cards based on things to 'do'.

Didn't this turn out cute?!
I think I went a little overboard on the repeating elements, 3 columns, 3 printed papers, 3 different colors of cardstock, 3 buttons and 3 little bling pieces.
Materials:
Papers: Bo Bunny Dots Cardstock; tropical paper I've had in my stash for some time & of course, can't remember who makes it......DOH!
Image: Dustin Pike's Swim Dragon
Techniques: MCPT
Ribbon, Buttons & Bling from my stash
Thanks so much for stopping by today to take a look.

Love is in the air...

and maybe a little rain in the Michigan air right now - what a crazy summer. I think it's rained at least once a day for the last 5 days! This past weekend we were a mere 2 degrees from beating the record for the coldest day in July. So far this July has been the second coldest on records - what's up with that?! Glen and I have had our handmade wool slippers and pull-overs out in the evenings for the entire month of July.
Crazy weather! Today I even got stuck in a thunderstorm at lunch (of course the umbrella was at my desk at work and NOT in the car - DOH!)
I digress - I have a wedding shower I'm going to on Saturday with my mom-in-law for a family friends daughter, and what better shower gift than an album to put wedding photos in. So, before I finished up the other orders I have for baby & wedding albums, I thought I'd wrap this up this one (thank goodness it rained this weekend - made me feel no guilt about spending part of the weekend in my studio). :) It would have been finished sooner, but wouldn't you know it I needed ONE more piece of paper and the Michael's close to home didn't have the paper. Murphy's Law I guess!
Okay, well, enough blah blah blah from me - here it is...

Materials:

Papers - Heidi Grace Design

Pink, White, Stardust Metallic &Silver metallic Cardstock

Making Memories Stick Pins (first time I've used & I LOVE them!)

Cricut: Home Accents, Lyrical Letters, Storybook, Wedding Solutions,

Design Studio

Just a LITTLE Bling, Sheer ribbon, metal heart shaped clips, Primas & LOTS of pop dots!

Our Little Prince Charming

Boy, the weekends sure do fly by, don't they??
Here's a layout I did yesterday and thought I'd share. I was hoping to get a better photo - but with the dreary weather, this is the best I could get.
This is my entry in the Scrap-Friendzy Survivor Challenge #2 - Step Out Side Of The Box. The Challenge was to do a layout that was any shape but a square or a rectangle and to include two handmade embellishments. My handmade embellies are the crown - complete with jewels, flocked cat tails & the button flower made with handmade paper.
So, here's mine - I had the cutest photo of my nephew from 2008 (his mom is so great about keeping his auntie up to date with the most recent Colin photos!!) It was a perfect fit for this layout - he's our little prince charming!

Materials:
Paper - Blue, Green, Brown & Yellow Cardstock
We R Memory Keepers swirly green for the frog
White Handmade paper for the flower
Cricut - Paper Dolls (for the Frog), Storybook (for the title), Design Studio
Cuttlebug: Floral Screen Embossing Folder
Miscellaneous: Yellow Button from stash, BIG Googley eyes, Jewels, Stickles, Chestnut Roan Ink, Fun Flock & lots of pop dots
This turned out really cute and looks even better in person!!
If you think about it and have a chance to vote, stop by and vote here. I'd love your vote so I can move on in the competition to the next round. The grand prize for the sole survivor competition is a 3 month spot on the design team (I think there are some fun goodies too, but the design team spot is super exciting to me).
Thanks to Amy for letting me use her little cutie as my subject for this layout! :o)
Happy Monday - I hope everyone is having a good start to the week!
Thanks for stopping by and for your vote too!

Yee Haw!!!

Yee Haw!!! Happy Weekend!! We'd hoped to spend at least part of our weekend outside, but the weather has been a bit uncooperative. Oh well, that way I don't feel so guilty about spending time in my studio working on some of the albums I've been hired to do.
I thought I'd share this fun little card I made the other day for my nephew, Colin. We found out last weekend that he's going to be a Big Brother in February and what a great Big Brother he'll be!! So, we had to send him a little celebration card. :o) I had to be sure to include purple in the card as Purple is Colin's favorite color (or at least I think it still is......)
No joke, after I finished this card & special envie, it weighed about 3 pounds with all the layers. I'm sure when it arrives Amy can confirm the weight!!
Materials:
Papers - Purple, Black & Green cardstock from my stash;
Doodlebug printed paper (a few years old) also from my stash.

Image - Digi-image from Dustin Pike (check out his images here)
Technique: MCPT
Text is computer Generated w/Tombstone font
Googley eyes are from my stash!
Hope you're having a great weekend (that's a bit dryer than what we're experiencing).
Happy Craftin'!

You CAN have your Cake....

Whoever said "You Can't Have Your Cake and Eat it Too" must have never made birthday cards with Cuppacakeabella!!
I put together this little ditty for a friend who is celebrating a birthday this month - yeah birthdays!
Lovin' the way it turned out! Seems lately I've been addicted to the square cards. Even though they're 20 cents more to mail, I love the way they look!
Papers: BG Sultry Collection & Pink Cardstock from my stash (I'm SLOWLY using up my stash....)
Image: Cuppacakeabella Stampin' Bella Image from an Image Swap I was in last year
Technique: Magic Colored Pencil Technique
Ribbon, Bling and Stickles from my stash
Hope you're having a productive day!
Happy Craftin' and Happy ALMOST FRIDAY!!

Elegant Thank You with a bit o'Bling!

I had a few Thank You cards that I needed to get together and out in the mail, so I made three of these little beauties. Aren't they great? I just love this stamp! Of course, every Chandelier needs a little bling included!
Card Size: 5.5 x 5.5 Card
Paper: Black - Cardstock, Aqua Dotted embossed paper used for mat
Stamp: Chandelier Heidi Swapp
Embossing powder: Zing - I love these bright colors!
Bling, Thank You Stamp & White Ribbon from my stash
I've been crazy busy working on albums for clients, trying to get them wrapped up.
Tomorrow we have a friend in from California - someone my hubby & I used to work with. So, we plan to do a bit of grillin & chillin' tomorrow evening and enjoy the summer!
Thanks for stopping by today. Hope your Hump Day was speedy!

Some Days....

So my hubby's grandpa has been in the hospital and is hopefully going home tomorrow.
So, I thought we'd send him a little note. at 95 years old, he is such a witty and wonderful man. So, with his wit, this card will be perfect. It's loosely base don the 'some days you're the bug, some days you're the windshield' phrase.
Outside items popped up.
The image is one of the 118 I picked up from Dustin Pike's site during his awesome sale this past weekend. If you haven't checked out his digi-stamps, definitely check them out here. He's got super fun images and every Wednesday, he posts a freebie image to get you addicted! ;o)
I added Goggley Eyes on the cat (Believe me, I tried to put them on the fish, but they were a bit too big!). The cat's nose and little paws are popped up on dimensionals as well as the goldfish & the mouse.
Paper: Cat paper, Brown & Orange Cardstock from my stash

I used Turquoise, Orange Peel & Diamond Stickles for a little sparkle.

Thanks for stopping by today. Hope you had a great Monday! I'm off to work on some albums & watch the Home Run Derby with my hubby!

Alexis' Ladybug Brag Book

So, heard from my cousin Teri and so I can now post this little ditty. Alexis was born in March and her nursery was decorated in ladybugs. So, it was a MUST that baby Alexis had a Ladybug Brag Book for her mommy to tote around with photos of this cute little bug!
This was the final product. She loved how it turned out and I'm so very pleased!!

An awesome Girls Day!

Today was a fabulous day - I got to spend the better part of the day with a few of my bestest girlie friends! We made a stop at Archivers ( 1 1/2 hours later we made it out, but it was a VERY productive stop), went to Olive Garden to celebrate my birthday, found out I'm going to be a new Auntie in February as Amy is preggers. Colin will make such a GREAT big brother!!
This was how Amy told me - isn't this just a cute mug?!What a huge surprise and a neat birthday gift!
And of course we had to take at least ONE Photo! This was us outside Hobby Lobby (It's a new craft store to us on the East side of the state!)

Thank you girls for a wonderful day! It was a very special 35th birthday celebration!
Thanks to their hubbies (and mine) for letting us crazy scrappy girlies spend the better part of the day together spending $$ on scrappy supplies. :o)

Summer's A Blast

I wanted to share the recent card I received from my Pen Pal Claire.
This one makes me want to take a trip to the beach! She also sent me a Fourth of July & Birthday Card, but I haven't had a chance to photograph those yet.
Thanks for the great note Claire and the birthday wishes!!!
I'll be back later today (likely tonight) to post a few projects I've wrapped up this week.
